I’ve heard a lot about Bitcoin, and actually got an opportunity to use one once when Mailbox mac app beta invites were sent out.
What is a Bitcoin?
As noted in the Bitcoin website: “Bitcoin is an innovative payment network and a new kind of money. Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks; managing transactions and the issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network. Bitcoin is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part. Through many of its unique properties, Bitcoin allows exciting uses that could not be covered by any previous payment system.”
Bitcoin management system/application Dashboard
I personally don’t buy/sell Bitcoins, but in a recent conversation with a friend, I came across Bitcoin again and decided to do some research around it. After a lot of research online, I didn’t find too many options of managing them online. Hence, I decided to give it a shot myself.
Bitcoin management systems are generally referred to as wallets (for day to day spending and management), and vaults (for more security and multiple sign-in options).
Thoughts behind this concept design
- Easy to use
- Simple management solution
- Live Bitcoin trading rates
- Handy contact list
- Minimal design
- User centered and more personalized
My process coming up with the dashboard design was pretty straightforward. As noted in my previous post, UX flow maps, I came up with a sitemap/flow map for the application and continued from there.
It was fun designing this and I think I might move with it forward and come up with a screen for the transactions (as showed in the mockup) next.
